@grimsbyace engine house is in the center of the load so well balanced the hull is strong enough to cope with the slinging spreaders are for long material to prevent sagging and shifting or for loads where the weight has to be carefully distributed or suspended from several points also the lift needs to be kept stable as any good slinger/banksman would know a spinning load is a dangerous load have you a banksman ticket or appointed persons certificate if not why comment

Not only would I use a spreader, but also the men would have been managed better, I saw 3 possibilities of what could have been fatal, if the proverbial was to hit the fan. 1, the man stood near the fed sling, just as the weight was being taken, 2, the man pushing the boat at the stern, if it fell, he'd be gettin buried next week, and 3, the same man on the stern was in a very precarious position, had the boat continued to swing to port. My view only, comments welcome.

@250quadzilla .... if i was the owner of a big crane company like this i would be on my own yacht down in the caribbean drinking mai-tai's. but i would hope my employees would always use a spreader bar, or proper rigging because insurance in this line of work costs an arm and a leg.
