@davidkennedydds Years ago, I discussed this with my dentist (around 1998) and he said he didn't believe in the need to remove amalgams at that time. He said he could make a lot of extra money doing so, but didn't feel that it was an honest activity for his practice at that time. He's stopped using amalgam fillings, but I have no idea whether he is doing replacements now or not. My wife got some fillings last year and they are all composite and tooth colored.

If the tooth is removed due to some issue such as a root canal or crack in the body then it is probably the safest way to get the mercury out only for one problem, after the tooth is pulled you won't have that tooth any more and personally I like to have my teeth. So what I always told my clients what to save the teeth and get rid of garbage which included dead teeth, bad bugs, nickel, cobalt or palladium crowns bridges partials and amalgam. Back to the basic healthy teeth.

@deppressed1 Problem was money but not the kind you're thinking. All other methods cost more than using a 150 year old toxic material when fixing a tooth that has already been militated by amalgam. If this is the first filling composite not only works better it lasts longer with more tooth left when it fails so it is not only cheaper it is better. But when someone sits in the chair and says I am so poor I can't afford to fix this tooth, pull it the dentist tried to "save" it. We love teeth.

Dosis solum venom facit for dose alone makes the poison . . .
So do not overlook the additional impact of all the multiple shots of thimerosal (ethyl mercury) 250 mcg each shot that every soldier received in the vaccinations.

look into the mouths of most ptsd sufferers,the answer to the causes are there
My dentist stopped using amalgam fillings years ago. Unfortunately, I have lots of them from 20-30 years earlier.

@basspig Is your mercury-free dentist also mercury-safe?
The reason I ask is approximately 50% of the dentist now claim to be mercury-free but for so many this was an economic choice because their patients didn't want mercury. The still drill out old mercury fillings and unfortunately that can give you a really big dose of mercury. Youtube video "Safer Amalgam Removal" shows you what you should expect. You and the staff need protection and a separate air source when mercury is being drilled.

@davidkennedydds I saw that video too. My dentist doesn't use them anymore, but I don't know if he removes existing amalgam fillings or not. Years ago, he didn't believe this stuff, but I spoke with him in the 1990s and perhaps now it's sunk in because he uses composite fillings for the past several years.

@basspig Wait a minute. Every dentist in the world removes amalgam. Some put more back in others do not but still if the tooth was filled with mercury before and gets a new cavity (every 5 years or so) then that needs to be drilled out before and refilled. If the dentist isn't protecting the staff then they are engaged in unlawful practices. if they remove mercury and don't protect you then you can get worse not better.
