  • Joe - Clearly you are a great drummer. Really want to know if money is not a factor, which kit you'd buy. Roland or Hart. Any issues with Hart? Thinking of pulling trigger now. I have a td-20sx module and a "frankenstein" piecemeal kit. Thoughts?

  • @Voxtender Roland and Hart are both great products. Check out Diamond Electronic drums. I have a few videos up playing them. They look like acoustic and play like roland and Hart. Very good quality can't say enough good things about Dave Chetwynd the owner of the company. I enjoy playing a 14" snare again. They trigger very nice. Hope this helps.

  • Hi Joe... nice drum solo. What kit is that you are playing on your TD-20 for the first part of your solo? I have a Hart Dynamics Pro 6.4 kit, and just upgraded to the TD-20 in the past year. I like the sound of that first kit you play for your solo.

  • @joe556677 That is a kit I made from their samples. The kick is #9 Mahogany the toms are Birch and the snare is the Round badge #71. That is what is so great about the TD-20 you have so many sounds to choose from to make up your own kit to your taste. Hope this helps

  • Thanks Joe. Can I ask what audio interface and recording software you are using? You recording sounds great. I currently connect the master outs on my TD-20 to Pro Tools 8 through an Mbox 2 Mini. I'm not happy with the results of this setup, and am looking at purchasing a new audio interface to I can record 8 direct outs from my TD-20 to separate tracks in Pro Tools. (I'm considering the MOTU 828mk3.)

  • @joe556677 I went straight out of the TD-20 into a Kodak Zi8 video recorder. I used a "Y" cable out of the mains so It would be in stereo. I changed the sounds up a bit for the other video I have up for Diamond drums and in that one I went through a fostex recorder before it went into the Zi8. You can do a lot of tweaking in the TD-20 module. Hope this helps.
