Little Brown Jug Frank Crumit

Here is a great version of "Little Brown Jug" performed well before it became popular again in the Big Band era. I like how Frank Crumit starts out fairly serious but gets drunker and drunker as he continues the song! This was recorded on January 7, 1930 according to the liner notes.

My Grandfather has been singing this at the end of our family reunions since i was a baby. He's now 80 and missing half of his left pinky and ring finger from Chopping wood in the dark when he was a kid. He didn't make it home when he was supposed to for chores. So his father made him chop it in the dark. He still plays this every year and occasionally when we're all gathered together. He can jam out on a eukelele and a six string acoustic....I'll never forget it

My Great-Grandmother use to sing this to me when I was a child. I haven't heard this song in over 30 years. Thank you for posting this.
