Greenland's ice caps are melting faster than predicted -- and local
farmers couldn't be happier. Thanks to rising temperatures, they can now
grow new crops and raise cattle. "I really like my cattle. They've very
gentle", boasts farmer Sofus Frederiksen. For the first time since the
Vikings, farmers can now raise cattle. Warmer seas are bringing huge
catches of cod and growing seasons are up to a month longer. "A little
bit of extra warmth is good for us", states agricultural consultant
Kenneth Hoegh. "We're growing things we would have hesitated to grow
in the past". But not all farmers are happy. With so little snow,
Stefan Magnusson finds it hard to herd his reindeer. Previously, he used
a snowmobile but now he has to do it by helicopter

  • Yet in the year 1000, Vikings inhabited Greenland growing crops and sheep untill the climate changed again and drove them off.Guess it was all them Inuit suv"s.All of history is of migration of peoples due to climate change, socialist schemes and redisturibution efoorts will have no effect.

  • Beautiful more land

  • Would you guys think Greenland will become the new destination for development after the our planet earth is getting warmer?

  • @MzBUZZKILINGTON Fine, as long as it is not BIG WIND,SOLAR,and NUKE run by big government and subsidized by the public trough. Failed alternative energy schemes theat are politically connected are given money while good ideas fall by the wayside. If the freemarket was unleashed we would have been off oil long ago.

  • @supressorgrid That's true but we have a massive amount of evidence showing that the current rise of temperatures is caused by a rise in CO2. I like how you say that people adapt but adapting is hard, why don't we make our energy adapt to nuclear, solar, and wind?

  • If we could focus all of the governments spending into science we could start moving off this planet, inhabit space and turn most of earth into an international park

  • I want to move there!

  • @darkherokaze It's probably the most untouched land in the world (next to Antarctica).

  • I hope that I will soon move to Greenland: (I miss it:(

  • "we put all this money into war, why don't we revert that and put it into science, instead."

You can live far, far a part and still share the same sentiments. It's really just that simple, too.
