This is a CAD model of the latest paddleshift control unit from Geartronics. The unit is based on a DSP microcontroller capable of a processing speed of 30MIPS. Features include on-board data-logging, 2 x CAN2.0B interfaces, 5 x low-side valve outputs and 2 x high-side outputs for direct connection to ignition coils or fuel injectors. Inputs for gear position (x2), throttle position, RPM, clutch position, system pressure, wheel speeds, up/down paddles, neutral & reverse buttons, error mode switch & auto mode switch.
Shift strategy is fully closed-loop with an optional limp-home mode for use in the event of sensor failures.
Interface to laptop PC is either via RS232 serial, USB or CAN. Comms ports are on 37-way Deutsch Autosport connector.
