Also in Ps 8:4 when it says "what is man, that thou art mindful of him?" It continues "and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor." It goes on to make it clear that he's referring to the creation, when God gave man dominion over the earth.
But where I do agree with the haters is I would join them in encourging people to be like the bereans and search the truth out in the scriptures for themselves

Hmm, there's a lot of haters on here willing to take scripture out of context to condemn someone they don't approve of. Heb 2:7 is clearly explaining that Ps 8 is talking about man. Heb 2:9 then says it's also about Jesus and vs 11 makes this comparison undeniable, "for both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one". So the whole point of the passage in hebrews is to say that the Son of God took on the form of a son of man. It says so in vs 17.

Psalm 8 is referring to the son of man, which is Jesus Christ, not mankind. The give-away is where the psalmist prophetically writes, "you made him a little lower than the angels". Hebrews 2:7-9 is a direct reference to Psalm 8 and quotes it saying it's referring to Jesus Christ, not mankind. If you know your Bible, you won't be misled. This is an idealogical battle to for your mind. Will you choose God's Word, or man's philosophy? It sounds so convincing when he speaks so meekly.

hmm, not so sure i agree here. God's breath is ruach, yes, and mine is usually halitosis. There is a difference in humans breathing oxygen and the life that God breathes into us. We are not creatures of "untold power". The Word says, "What is man that you are mindful of him?" Heb 2:6 and Psalm 8:4 This message exalts man's place. It has an underlying message that we have a piece of God in us making us God. That is not what the Word says. That's pantheism, not the Holy Spirit's deposit

We all have our opinions and are free to take our own views on Christianity. No matter what Rob Bell says, it's his views on what Christianity is. Sometimes we take these views too literally and take offense to it. It's all just my opinion though. Leave this guy alone, his life has been changed by these videos, don't corrupt him. Let's let people alone who are with God instead of trying to bring them down.

@10sayso Please be careful. Rob Bell is not a Christian. He has taken the Gospel and twisted it into something, like you said, that sounds "non preachy". The Cross is both beautiful and offensive, and once you erase the offensiveness of it (Hell and Conviction), it is no longer the Gospel, but just a bunch of twisted lies.
God Bless

Stop it, sir Bell. you are twisting and misusing the Scriptures. Your being tired of life and hypocrisy of people should not lead others into sin. Every word we utter shall be accounted for on the day of Judgement. Please. stop it.

Does anyone know what song is used in the vid???

We are God!

@themotionaddict2 yeah, all he's saying is that our breath is like a reminder of God's Holy Spirit that Jesus sent upon the believers at the ascension; we aren't the Spirit, but by the grace of God we have access to the Spirit. If you watch the whole video, it's clearer that what he's saying is that w/out God, we are nothing, there is no life. The similarities in the words is so when we think of breath, we will be reminded of God :)
its amazing how we choose to judge those who are meaning to put a message in your head. Rob Bell is not saying we are God at all he is saying that he breathed life into us. don't look for the bad but take the good.
