  • i wonder if there is a patent on bob ross technique. he could be sued for this.

  • Since I am an Alexander Art Certified Instructor, I use the techniques developed by Bill Alexander. I am fully authorized to instruct and demonstrate these techniques for everyone to learn, even the commenter.

I don't agree with this quotation. Good artists create and Pablo Picasso was a prime example of a good artist. Personally, I never cared for his art style, but one cannot argue the fact he was a creative genius.

  • did you use oil paint or acrylic?

  • @45800lol

I use oil paint. The canvas was first painted with black acrylic paint and dried. Then I painted oils on top of acrylic paint. This method is called "Mixed Media". The acrylic paint does not really mix with the oils as it is dry before I paint in oils.

  • @jarduli I doubt that anyone could be sued for using "his" technique. Just for the fact his tv show was to teach people how to paint.

  • If I may suggest. It would be ever so helpful to show the finished piece prior to instruction in order to give the student an idea of where they are going. It would also be helpful to see the palette once in awhile. Otherwise I am enjoying your instructions.

  • @sangreyenergia yes you can use acrylics for this, but you can't use it the same way as you see in the video's, you have to experement to learn the right way. i used it for a long time, but oil colours gets you way much better result then acrylics will.

  • thanks for sharing you wisdom. looks great. to bad lots of people don't know Bill Alexander, like him more the Bob Ross, he is so funny ;)

  • @jarduli Bill Alexander was Bob Ross his teacher, so you could say that Ross should be sued :P and wet in wet painting techniques are used for a long time so none of these gents can sue anybody, since you can patent a painting technique. anybody can use any technique they want as long as they sign with there own name and not the name of the artist you copy.

  • Thank you so much for your time and effort.

  • @ 07:00 OMG is THAT what a fan brush is used for???

  • Thank you so much

  • once the gesso dry do you need to apply any thing before applying oil paints???
