Well, the dude killed her because she caught him stealin' over 50k from American Atheists and she exposed him in an article, along with a bunch of other crimes he had done or allegedly done. Pissed him off, went crazy, killed her and her kids, chopped them up, the usual for people with bad-wiring. People like that don't care if you have a dick or not, they'll chop anyone up. Sad, but true.

@teriag While there was prayer in school there were all kinds of murder in the name of the Bible. Did Jesus teach that the state is supposed to promote prayer?  No. Religion is just a tool for people to have power over other people. It has nothing to do with God and an afterlife. It is quite obvious you all want the power in this life.

Big mistake on Madelyn's part. You don't publicly humiliate a psycho without obtaining protection. She should've either fired David Waters quietly, or bought a gun. Or better yet, she shouldn't have hired a convicted violent felon in the first place.

Another problem with Pascal's Wager is that what we are asked to 'bet' is tangible: our time, our energy, our money.

But the 'payoff' is intangible: 'pie in the sky when you die'.

That's why there is so much 'heaven inflation' in the religion business: "They say you'll get eternal life after you die? Well, we'll give you eternal life *and* 72 virgins!" It's easy to promise stuff you're never going to be asked to produce.

Religion is a racket, for suckers only.

Why should anyone think Madalyn Murray O'Hair was 'psychotic'? She never harmed anyone.

Who is accusing her? Someone who believes magical ghosts make things appear from nowhere, father babies on women, and the resulting half-god half-man child 'talks' to them even though dead for 2000 years?

A 'christian' can hardly accuse anyone of being 'psychotic' without choking on the irony.
