  • Hey dude, what rod are you using to throw the Tournament Series?

  • @Flippinstick1 That's the 795.

  • I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I was not deadsticking the bait, just slowing swimming it through deep cover.

As for the bait, it isn't a baitsmith. Its a Mattlures Channel Cat and is available at his site or on tacklewarehouse.

  • You noticed correctly. :-)

Matt Servant of Mattlures told me his new baits would convince me that boots would work equally well in Winter. I'm currently letting him prove that theory. As soon as my opinion changes, I'll make it known. But as you can see... they're working. :-)

  • Thanks guys. :-)

Yes, that fish was definitely sitting on that snag. I've got some other fish on the tournament series too... great baits for sure.

  • when you have your swimbait set up weedless do you wait a second to set the hook or do you set it when you feel the fish hit?

  • Wow great stuff love the switchblade swim jig and robo ez shad swim jig!!! But i cant find that baitsmith catfish swimbait? Could you post a link for us?

Thanks for your time and as always Tight Lines. John Hamm

  • nice fish

  • And just out of curiosity- what reservoir are you at? That looks like Mt. Diablo in the background....

  • Nice winter fish Matt! It's hard to tell from the angle of the camera, but are you dead sticking your swimbaits this time of year? or were you just slow rolling it on the bottom?

  • I noticed in one of your videos that in winter you throw swimbaits with natural tails....and that bait has a boot tail?
