Yes, these tumble form seats attached onswings have been used for a number of years with children with SMA and it is GREAT fun for the children because they feel safe while being swung. They provide a lot of vestibular inputs too, vestibular inputs non sma receive on daily basis without even knowing it. There is something called "floor sitting orthosis" which is a spinal corset with back attachement for stability on the floor, this could be used for horse riding without having to rely on others

This really brings joy to my heart to see her swinging. Such a simple thing that so many take for granted, and she LOVES it so much. I love hearing her vocalizations. I've followed you for a while now and I really think so much of your family and especially sweet Shira.

Go Shira! I'm glad that your dad and CanAssist came up with the idea of using an old tumble forms chair so that more kiddos can swing at the park like you without the need for a super expensive chair.
