I like van halen but id rather hear billy gibbons and crew play it. im not saying zztop is better then VH but billy gibbon s is a very underated as a guitarist. I guess he was jimi hendrix's favorite player. it is kool to hear this early vh though. thanks for posting

Cool interpretation of this song. I have to say though, ZZ Top's version is still my fav!

cloathing in the 80'thies was so...ahum.
Here is someone (Eddy) who not only understands the melody but also the intensity and has the guts to melt it in his own style.
But still I like the Gibbons verson better, and of course he wrote it !

SWEEEEET! I LOVE the vid - reminds me of the ones on my channel. lol. it's loaded with this stuff. You know something funny? I got like 98 songs that are VH covering others. I have them doing this - but NOT THIS recording. Very nice.

Original Top Fan when Tres Hombres was the new stuff....Original Van Halen fan...I believe this was the period that Gene Simmons refers to when he claims he was toying with getting them on Casablanca...and he wanted to get them under his contract...Bullshit anyone???....Eddie VanHalen or Billy Gibbons could play "Twinkle little Star" and it would be interesting....

@smithdsmit You are aware that the first recorded tap was by Billy F. Gibbons

is this in Duarte California? My parents used to hang out with them in So Cal before they made it big...

Just read where VH is releasing a new CD can't wait.

@intuantu No it doesn't refer to Zakk Wylde. But, Zakk is definitely a much more skilled guitarist then Billy.
This is way ahead of it's time, I like this as much as the ZZ Top original, for different reasons. Did they have a recording contract at this time? Thanks for the upload...

@morleygrey I'm glad you enjoyed it. To answer your question; No they didn't have a contract at the time of this recording. This is from late 75 or early 76 and they weren't signed until late 77.
