@DavidTRichard "Godzilla" films did make overseas to the U.S. back in the 1970's. I recall seeing "Godzilla vs. Megalon" back at a drive-in in the late '70's.

That brings back the memories. I had one of those back in the day and loved it.
The reason why Godzilla had a launching claw was because the toy was released with the Shogun Warrior robot collection. The SW's had all kinds of missiles and stuff that launched so to put Godzilla in with them meant he had to have something that could launch with enough power to maim somebody's little sister. Thus the launching claw was born. There's no way a toy like that would be released now.

They weren't even releasing Godzilla movies overseas in the 70s, I thought...why bother exporting the toys? Weird.

lol, i had several of these in the late 1970's. sure it was a cheezy stiff toy but i did not care. loved godzilla then and now.

I got to say the Mattel Shogun Godzilla toy is the WORST Godzilla toy I ever saw.
It doesn't look a thing like Godzilla...and a Launching Claw?! DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!
