Hundreds of thousands of individuals have died in state psychiatric hospitals across the country. Most are buried on hospital grounds in unnamed graves. To honor the deaths and celebrate the lives of these individuals, plans are underway to develop a National Consumer Memorial in Washington, D.C.
I am pleased to announce that good progress has been made in raising funds for the National Consumer Memorial. Let's keep up the good work!

Please, folks, help out if you can. This is a very fitting memorial to many unknown people who died in psychiatric institutions in many states. I am pleased to be included in this appeal video.

I had also written three previous books on mental health.

I submitted a book proposal on mental health to the Carter Foundation and it was rejected because I didn't have three or more years experience as a journalist and yet I have had over 40 years experience as a clinician. It doesn't seem like the Rosalyn Carter Foundation is much interested in new information on mental health.
