Maybe you can see red sparks in quartz, and a blue line of light when unrolling sticky tape.

  • bad vid. delete it.

  • Triboluminescence is the production of light from friction as a result of scratching, crushing, or rubbing certain crystals (Nelson 475).

The first one with quartz may be tribolum. but the second one with tape is def. not, the tape light was just a result of static.

  • this will also happen underwater. i showed this to my girlfriend in her pool last summer.

  • @unknotmiguel thats a really good question

  • Dunno, so I can fight medusa with it.

  • @ConnorXV why the mirors ?

  • if this quartz is sumbited to a high sound frequency, making the structure vibrates, would it give light?

  • 2 people killed themselfs by this being too mind boggling.

  • @Commodore1236 im gonna make an x-ray cannon from some duct tape rolls and mirrors.

  • @ConnorXV

nope, it IS triboluminescence, I'm surprised as you are really.

even wikipedia says so under Triboluminescence ... and BTW holy crap ! they did preduce X-rays from a dtupid duct tape !
