I go over the techniques to make a mask for your art journals. In this video I use the mask to keep a shape white that I later draw in.

To complete this technique you need the following materials: xacto or scissors, several extra blades, cardstock or transparency film, or junk mail. An image to mask out. Some 2 way glue or spray adhesive or rubber cement. THen whatever media you'd like to create your page with.

I use white acrylic paint as the sealant for the page. I wrote words into the wet paint and then used water color crayons for the first layer, then spray inks, and then several colors of acrylic which I spread with a credit card and then wiped away some of the paint, I then glued in my queen of merde image and added a dragon off a bacardi ad. I'll probably seal this with wax.

Feel free to post htis video to your blog and to use this technique in your art journal!

  • @AF0093 I used spray glue. But a pressure sensitive glue would also work, as would double sided tape.

  • Wow you sure know how to draw! What did you use to adhere the pieces of paper? Hugs, Zoe

Yes, any spray substance with chemicals is especially bad for the tiny lungs and it does linger in the air. Just a note because so many artists have cats or dogs around their studio and might not think about taking precautions for them. Not that it's great for people to breathe either but animals are especially suseptible. : )

  • @Shaysailor you mean the spray glue?
