Hi, I am curious why Marco did not put any slits in the pie crust before baking it? The only thing I can reason for doing that is that he wants the steam to stay inside of the pie to cook the food thoroughly instead of letting the steam escape where it won't. When I make a fruit pie I always put slits on the top to let the steam escape or I will do a lattice type of design on top. By not putting in slits before baking, it scares me that the crust will bubble up like a balloon and explode?

That happend to me once, the pressure blew the door of my oven. The explosion could be heard from miles away. Havnt cooked pie since....
