they didn't make this song FOR the anime. Production I.G. (studio which made Higashi no Eden) just bought a license to use their song in anime.

to clairify, the op in the Japanese version and the 1st episode of the dub is an American song wich the Japanese version could use do to the diffrences in copy right laws. when eden was dubbed copy right laws got in the way so they could only show it for the 1st episode on the DVDs with the other episodes using a J-pop song. however most video streaming sites just splice in the original op if you watch the dub on those sites.

This was the first episode for eden of the east on the Anime Classics but theres a different song but i really like this one better :D
