John demonstrates the latest mobility aid, the iGlasses®. They use ultrasound to detect obstacles and are designed to be used as a secondary mobility device alongside a cane or guide dog. Worn like spectacles the iGlasses provide vibration feedback when you near a potential hazard at head and chest height. When you approach obstacles such as over grown branches, hanging signs and baskets the frequency of the vibration will increase - giving you more confidence to explore your surroundings.

@SupportTheBlind - just a thought, they could be iGlasses as eyeglasses could be just a normal pair of spectacles. Whereas the "i" iGlasses could stand for information glasses!? I don't know the answer, but that is my guess. It's not like Apple are the only company putting an "i" in front of their product names, there's lots of products on the market that also do this! Call it the lazy naming convention of the internet age! I is the new E!

Excellent Product. I might get it in the future.
Just a question thought. These iGlasses have nothing with Apple and any of its "i" products. Why do they have 'i' instead of 'eye'?
