The solder is working its magic at that point. Make sure the foil doesn't touch the board and make sure it's level. No-clean flux is mandatory and a quality thermal past like I used from TIM Consultants will make it last longer. AS5 is pretty good too, but TIM is better. that tim-consultants com, you want the quantum. Temperature is important since solder melts at a specific temperature. Best of luck to all of you.

I tried all the fan test eject stuff and it didn't work for me, must depend on your particular situation. I had an issue with the blue light last time and I fixed it by disconnecting and reconnecting all my ribbon cables. You will see many temps online, I can only tell you what worked for me with my particular gas oven. 350 put it in go to 450 and shut it off and leave it til it cools. At about 430 you will get some not so delightful smells and that's when you know your close.

Well, I got 7 months out of it, but when it YLOD'd again, my daughter was playing without the fan on that I have over it. Just shut the oven off with the PS3 in it again. It's been about an hour and 15 minutes. I'll let it cool down for at least an hour, then repaste it and put it back together. We played the crap out of it this summer and it was hotter than hades here, so this is a good fix if you do it right. It is not a permanent fix, since it's the same inferior solder inside, but oh well.
