In any other profession, Carl Pope might be considered a "company man." He has worked loyally and tirelessly in the name of the Sierra Club for thirty years, running the organization -- the largest of its kind in the country -- since 1992. Van Jones has founded several organizations within the last decade, including The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and Green For All. They both live in the Bay Area. They both care intensely about saving the environment. The thing is, they use very distinct methods, although the lines differentiating those methods are blurring as we race further into the 21st century. From the environment to the economy, from old fashioned door-to-door fliers to streaming internet video, Pope and Jones discuss the myriad elements effecting our lives today and the many possible solutions that are nearly within reach.

  • losers!

  • imnotbobbarker: I don't watch Glenn Beck, and I don't watch Fox News. I come up with my own opinions. Democrats threw Van Jones under the bus, and I'm quite certain that they don't care for Fox News or Glenn Beck.

I'm still waiting for you to state Van Jones' best innovative idea. If you can't think of at least one, then don't reply.

  • no comment attention whore see also anything glenn beck has ever said on fox news

ps glenn beck is a theocratic communist

  • imnotbobbarker: Glenn Beck does not love GWB. Why do you have to make stuff up? Glenn Beck also dislikes McCain.

I don't like GWB either. Why do you assume that anyone who disagrees with Van Jones loves GWB? Your logic doesn't even make any sense. There are many Democrats who disagreed with Van Jones too, and that is why Van Jones was thrown under the bus. Van Jones is what is known as a "self smearer." He smeared himself and brought himself down.

  • This is my last point because you are an attention whore, one Glenn Beck got on the NYT best seller list because he can afford alot of advertising. Van Jones just had a good book. You would know that if you read... anything. And once again you ignored my point on Van Jones working on the Green jobs act that George Bush singed into law. If you really have a problem with Van Jones and his supporters, you have a problem with GWB. Since Glenn Beck loves GWB so much I guess he likes Van Jones too

  • imnotbobbarker: I just checked nytimes(dot)com, and Glenn Beck's book is #1 on the NY Times "Best Seller" list, and Beck opposes Van Jones, so why would you even mention the NY Times "Best Seller" list?

I'm still waiting for you to tell me Van Jones' best innovative idea.

Van Jones' book review: "The premise of this book is that if you offer low wage jobs to minorities for sealing up cracks and assembling solar cells the crisis will be solved. Most of the book was written by a ghost writer."

  • Wow... you have NO idea what your talking about. His book, "The green collar economy" is a respected NY times best seller. And I would like to point out that no one had a problem with him when he was working with Bush in 2007 on the Green jobs act. Really tranny read, something anything, just start using your mind.

  • imnotbobbarker: What do you mean by "his innovative ideas"? Everything that Van Jones said I already heard from someone else years before. Name one single innovative idea that belongs to Van Jones.

Van Jones is NOT a environmental scientist, he just repeats ideas that other people came up with, and he is a terrible public speaker because he uses vulgar language and has an annoying voice. You call a person like that an asset?

  • Simple I dont believe a man's value diminishes just because he falls out of favor. Van Jones is an asset to his community and the world. His innovative ideas on green energy can produce an America with a stronger economy, security, and better quality of living. I think it is disgraceful to push someone like that under a bus.

  • imnotbobbarker: Why do you continue to discuss someone who has been thrown under the bus?

A burger flipper at McDonald's has a greater chance of getting somewhere in politics because that burger flipper at least has a clean slate. Van Jones is tainted because of his past, and you can't erase that. Even many Democrats want nothing to do with Van Jones.
