Pt2:
What I understand Swamiji to be saying is simply that these "memories" are there prior to the soul, They come with the
body like a VHS tape that has not been rewound
completely before recording a new story on it.
We can learn, apparently, to go back and read that tape, but don't think it's "you" any more that this you is "you" now. It's even less "you" so I hear.

I've heard him speak and understand the birthing this way; The soul comes into the body at birth - the very moment the body of the infant comes in contact with the outside. But prior to this it's body is busy recording and laying down information to bio-memory as it grows.
So the cells in the brain form and grow. Eventually the soul can have access to these memories and many Rishi have spoken about this experience.

thank you, but i am stil waiting for clarfication on this matter from life bliss.

If you do have this connection with this Guru, then the question would not be posed.
Do not question it. I am sure you know the answer to your connection.

Sorry sir, I don't agree with your translation.

no that's not true. "jaTHar" is sanskrit for womb, shayanam means to sleep. in this song the verse is "punarapi jananam, punarapi maranam; punarapi janani, jathare shayanam'....it means that birth and death are unending, and the soul comes back only to take refuge in a mother's womb (implying that even a mother's womb can't protect the child from the threefold miseries of material world). therefore seek refuge of krishna who will liberate you.
it has nothing to do with abortion

Sorry krohit99. You don't know samskrit!
Jataree sayanam means sleeping in the womb of a woman.
the lyric is "punarapi jananee jataree sayanam". It means - in order to be born again a person sleeps in the womb of a woman.

it's very good you asked this question. even i would like to get a clarification on this. however, based on my limited intellect or whatever it is, swamiji is not supporting abortion. it will still have an impact on those committing the act by giving them a heavy karmic load. now since karma theory is the very foundation of all hindu philosophies, it's the only logical correlation you could make and which is impossible to disprove. but Lifebliss please clarify..

he doesn't refer to abortion anywhere in this discourse. we have to remember that maybe abortion doesn't affect the spiritual progress of the unborn jeevatma, but it certainly has a profound impact on those who think of doing it, plan it and actually do it. abortion IS wrong as it is clearly interfering with nature, stopping the flow of life. it creates a karmic imprint which is so deep, that it takes a very long time to get rid of.

one is either spiritual or not spiritual. there are no middle grounds. when one has to classify onself as one or the other kind of a spiritualist, then there is a sense of "i-ness" attached to this thought. and anything born of thoughts cannot be ultimate truth as by their very nature, thoughts are limited to the mental plane. transcendence lies beyond the mental plane :-)
He contradicts Adhi Sankara who said "...punarapi jananee jataree sayanam.." (In order to be born again sleep in the womb of a woman)
