@soninke79 I am stating that POUM is a political party and Orwell is not a member of this party and he is not a trotskyst at all. He goes to Spain with Labour Party's recommendation. This is why he is not in international brigades,he's in POUM militia; and still not a POUM member. (See letter to Cyril Connolly, 8th June 1937)But in Skalpel's song he says "fought in the POUM militias with Orwell" so my first objection is not valid(that's why i deleted my first comment).And greetings from Istanbul

yes, he was a member of the milita. Orwell's experiences in the Spanish Civil War gave rise to "Homage to Catalonia" (1938), a very interesting book...

@soninke79 i see now. i started to read that book. but he is not an official POUM member, he is in the "militia". he says if he went to spain as a communist party member than he would be in International Brigades.
