Caracas, November 2007.- BBC News reporter John Sweeney shows that Hugo Chavez relies upon his own paramilitary groups in Venezuela to protect his Bolivarian Revolution, and to threaten and even kill those who oppose his political project.

Chavez paramilitary groups are supposedly there to fight a war against the U.S.; however, they consider those who oppose Chavez's political project to be linked to the C.I.A. and to the Government of the United States.

John Sweeney stated that there are no reported murders by these armed groups; however, he forgot to mention that on August 16, 2004, Maritza Ron was murdered by a violent and armed Chavist group that dissolved a pacific demonstration near Altamira Square, in Caracas, a day after the 2004's Revoking Referendum. Likewise, this BBC News reporter failed to linked the more than 100,000 murders that have occurred in Venezuela during the 9-year rule of the Chavista Government with the murder of political dissidents, most of whom are not very important political figures, who are persecuted and murdered by paramilitary groups similar to this one, which are formed by civilians, common criminals and state security agents; murders which the government reports as "common criminal murders" but those are the executions of the 21st Century that ORVEX has been demouncing since its foundation, in April of 2005.

Due to its informative work, in favor of Freedom and Democracy, and for promoting the non violent struggle techniques of Mr. Gene Sharp. from the Albert Einstein Institution in the U.S., ORVEX (Organization of Venezuelans in Exile) was declared a "Terrorist Organization" by the Venezuelan Government in May of 2007.

Hugo Chavez is a threat to the National Security of the United States. There is a direct flight between Teheran (Iran) and Caracas (Venezuela); there are HEZBOLLAH cells in Venezuela, and Islamic terrorists who have received Venezuelan passports who will enter into the U.S. if they get U.S. Visas.

Hugo Chavez is a communist and an enemy of the United States. Do not be misguided and do not let him deceived you by his apparent "good deeds", which are intended to hide his evil intentions against "the land of the free and the home of the brave".

  • 95 percent14 of the Venezuelan media is in opposition to Chávez, on a daily basis produce vitriolic 'news pieces' and editorials against the government. The private media includes Venevision, RCTV, Globovision, Televen and CMT which control at least 90% of the TV market, with smaller private stations controlling another 5%.In addition all of the 118 newspaper companies, both regional and national, are held in private hands, as are 99% of radio stations

Press freedom is alive and well.

  • WE AT LEAST THERE NOT THUGS ROBBING PEOPLE

  • @SocialistaTribalista

btw, unlike me, who answered directly your questions about crime in Venezuela and why socialism hasn't "failed", you've completely ignored my question.

Chavez hasn't done enough to combat crime how does that discredit the idea of democratic ownership of industry (socialism, which is not complete in Venezuela)?

When Mexico was the crime capital of the Americas, did you decry capitalism as a failed system? as Haiti lay in desperate poverty do you denounce the free market?

  • @simontimon2

what exactly does Mao and central economic planning in a peasant society have to do with democratic ownership of the means of production and distribution which is what Venezuela is building? If you say they're the same, show me where in China you have democratically controlled factories, where in Beijing are there free trade unions? where in Mao's China was there democracy in industry? answer is; nowhere

Maoist China has nothing to do with the ideas of the Bolivarian Revolution

  • @SocialistaTribalista Under communist rule 65 million chinese starve to death. Do to the inefficiency of collectivised farming

  • @simontimon2

Chavez hasn't done enough to combat crime from spilling over from Colombia, true, how does that discredit the idea of democratic ownership of industry (socialism) which is still being built in Venezuela, how do the two contradict?

When Mexico was the crime capital of the Americas, did you decry capitalism as a failed system? as Haiti lay in desperate poverty do you denounce the free market?

  • @simontimon2 Largely because inept officials in the state and local level have not implemented changes, because the drug trade has spread from Colombia to Venezuela despite massive victories in Venezuela against drug exporting, and because Chavez' government and the PSUV has concentrated enough attention to the issue.

How does that discredit socialism? the infant mortality rate in Angola is massive, does that discredit capitalism?

  • @SocialistaTribalista If socialism works then how come Venezuelan has the worlds highest murder rate.

Ever since Hugo Chavez took power the murder rate has tripled.

  • @Sexisttroll I see that your a troll

  • @NeroroPuj whats wrong with having a left wing government? Lula is socialist, and Brazil is a free country not all left wings are evil you know... as a matter of fact Brazil has progressed thanks to Lula.... and there are right wing parties is just that more people in Brazil votes for the left (with freedom to vote for right)...
