  • did i hear a little stash almost, or possum? haha ive got my mcarty hollowbody sitting in my lap as i watch im trying to decide if i like it

  • @tynnsey ..IMHO and experience PRS need a tab work to get them really screaming...I feel like the midrange hump needs to be smoothed a bit..but as always that is my thoughts....peace

  • @tynnsey lol...I did want the guitar to get a bit more of a phish-ish tone but, I decided to go in a different direction...if you are trying to go in the tray tone direction, I humbly suggest: careful adjustment of the PUs and some DR blues strings..cap upgrades (real PIO caps can do a lot) and maybe do a search for some PUs (lollars, skaterbranes, WB) and I would assume you would get a solid round tone with a little bite.

  • Sweet guitar - I used to have one very similar to that but sold it as it didn't quite do it for me.

Side note: the TV in the background is somewhat annoying

  • thank you for your comment....yes the TV is certianly annyoing...(I am thinking I should start doing some more critical clips but, right now it is more of a "down home" type thing.)

  • the TV is certianly anoying...I put the kids in front of it for a little while everyday and that is when I get a "break"....I am thinking of getting a more prof. type of thing going....your thoughts??????

  • stocks are called 57/08

  • What pick ups would you say would make it sound like trey from phish? I'm gettin the 25th anniversary model which have different pick ups then the mcarty.

  • first, PRS has a scale length that is in between a fender and a gibson so, I belive that really has an impact on the tone...it is less jangly then a fender and a bit less warm as a gibson....I really like the mid range bump, I find I need to replace the PUs to get it a bit more balanced....I find that simihollow bodies tend to get a little more grit but, I have not played a vast majority of them so, I can only speculate....my gigging guitar is a swamp ash PRS and it has never let me down...peace

  • do you recommend this guitar?

I was looking at suhr archtop guitar and sadowsky semihollow guitar as other possible options

let me know what you think brotha
