WOW! That was pretty close. When I was flyin in east Texas there were always buzzards on the departure end of 35 over a cow pasture. They were always circling so they were easy to "see and avoid".

Looks even closer then the eagle that passed near mine! Gets the heart pumping huh.

before i got my ticket, my instructor and i took out a bird on the right wing in a tomahawk while downwind doing touch and goes. it literally exploded on impact and nudged the plane about 3-5 degrees to the right. the skin on the wing had to be replaced. tense moment for a second, but the plane flew and landed like nothing happened. thanks piper!
to clear my conscience, i bought a bird feeder that weekend :)

That saying has always messed me up. I couldn't decide if it was a near hit or near miss LOL so I went with near miss.
So... I will now change the title to near hit :-)
