  • Rosegarden Funeral split up in 1988. It was already impossible to attract decent audiences at this time as Goths had gone over to a stadium rock mentality. Only the big 5 bands were of interest to the few Goths that remained. (AAE, Cult, SOM, Mish, Nephs)

It is during the late 80s that Goth as a viable music was dying leading to the 90s confusion.

  • This is from 1986 and the band came from Hull, which many Humberside people don't consider to be Yorkshire.

The consisted of three people and a drum machine (called Uncle Fester) and were led by the enigmatic Richard Jackson.

Their sound was extremely similar to what had arisen out of the Leeds scene only a few years earlier. (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, SOM, March violets) They could be considered that last little flicker of that.

  • Dating to 1986 their material should have guaranteed more success but sadly...

    Pure Cult!
