The world of competitive eating is in an uproar after a defiant Takeru Kobayashi unofficially broke the hot dog eating world record. Kobayashi is a six-time champion at Nathanapos;s Famous annual Fourth of July hot dog eating competition on Coney Island. However heapos;s been barred by Major League Eating, the body that sanctions the event, since 2010 due to contract disputes. Fans and judges watched Kobayashi chomp down hot dogs alongside the official competitors, displayed on a big screen. Kobayashi finished with 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes while his archrival, Joey Chestnut, won the official Coney Island competition with just 62 dogs. Chestnut broke the official world record when he consumed 68 wieners in 2009. Major League Eating President George Shea called Kobayashiapos;s performance a farce and said "the champion of the world is crowned in Coney Island. Always has been, always will be."

  • Kobayashi wins!!! Nathan's wants him to sign with their stupid contract so they can control him .... I'm glad he refused to sign... he didn't let the man take control over him... Nathan's can't deny the Kobayashi won but they will continue to do it because they can't make money off of him... and Kobayashi will be satisfied knowing that he is the real champ .... I hope nathan's fails for being assholes

  • WTF Kobayashi Should Hold the world Record

  • KOBYASHI FTW

  • watch "Cheeseburger beer bong"

  • Joey Chestnut still holds the WR as the count was terrible on Kobayashi's 'unofficial' attempt. It looks like though that if they had competed together, Kobayashi would have won that year.

  • Loyal to Kobayashi his techqniques are the best and always

  • A record can be set anywhere.

The official official record is set when someone sets it.

Just because you slap a logo and a televised competition doesn't make it any better.

Fuck an official anything. If someone does it in the right settings but without a 'official' name it's still done.

  • @SuttonSantiniPaulo one day, there will be a barbarian guy that comes out of your monitor and strangles you till you die,one day..

  • Kobayashi is the clear leader in competitive eating.

  • @wildshotsintheair lol i feel the same way! i see them eat hotdogs and im just like god that looks nasty i would rather eat pizza or something.

  • I ate 69 weiners, then I took an arrow in the knee.
