How to Make Easy Spaghetti Sauce- I find myself simiflying the process of preserving as years go by, not saying it is the right way but it is my way..

We had a pretty good crop of tomatoes this year with only 7 tomato plants I put away many batches of tomatoes and sauce .

I had some Mrs Wages spaghetti mix in the freezer and thought I better get them used up.

Removing the skins of the tomatoes I have found is optional, you don't have to if you want to skip this step. I did on this batch but on further batches I have found out you can't even tell if you don't when you blend in the blender.

Processing your spaghetti sauce is a matter of preference, cook on the stove and then I like to freeze it and it works out quite well..

Mrs Wages pasta sauce isn't bad for a quick, easy, fast way to make some sauce , you can add other ingredients if you choose too.

  • Good method, I would be worried about using any pre packaged stuff though, because of the chemicals and artificial ingreedients in there. You have those beautiful organic tomatoes, you can just make the sauce and freeze it, and add some spices and seasoning easily when you want to cook with it. :)

  • @PinkShirtz , is true but I feel ok with this mix, I realize it can be hard to get away from all processed stuff, but I had these and I had to use them, plus the ingredients in this packet is pretty limited not seeing anything to really scare me from using it.. and it is better than going out to eat fast food.. I do have my fresh tomatoes that are over compensated vs the mix.. :)

  • A great idea for those of us with less energy, ( i call myself lazy) a large slow cooker works wonders.

The longer I cook mine, the thicker it gets.

Plus I add all sorts of things. Like mushrooms, black olives, peppers, onions, Burger, at times I've added zucchinis as well.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @leannvlewis , absolutely add whatever else works wonderfully, thanks for coming by!

  • I will have to see if I can find Mrs. Wages, don't think I've ever seen it up here. I still have frozen whole tomatoes from last year that I haven't used.
