Michele de Wilton - Shimoda

Shimoda was inspired by the Japanese legend of Okichi. A beautiful young girl betrothed to her true love, she was pressured into becoming the mistress of the first US ambassador to Japan. After the ambassador left, Okichi was shunned and lived out her life in solitude. Shimoda is a story of sacrifice and lost love.
