Larry Gibson is the only permanent resident on Kayford Mountain, just 35 miles from Charleston, West Virginia. For 19 years he has held on to his fifty acres -- that which remains of his ancestral home. What was once a living community is now an island of life surrounded by death. Patchwork filmmakers join Larry and his band of friends as they pass through "Hell's Gate" and - in one breathtaking moment -- come upon "the end of the world."
And so sadly it continues that wherever there is a dollar to be made, there will also be a justification for the death of anything or anyone who stands in the way of it's making. Stand strong West Virginia!

Keep on Larry! I was at your place a few years ago. The MTR has come closer. What do they expect to be the "reclaimed use" of this landscape when they leave, which allows the coal company not to leave approximate original contours AOC?
