Celebrations have got underway in Pakistan, commemorating the country's 60th anniversary. F E Chaudry, one of the first news photographers to work in India, experienced the birth of Pakistan and became friends with Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Pakistan's founding father. In his own words, F E Chaudry's son tells Al Jazeera about his father's work.

  • Good Work!!!(Inshallah Pakistan hamaisha sahi salamat rahai ga). Amin.

  • he cames from Jehlum and is ethnically Punjabi. For more details on the man, see a post on ALL THINGS PAKISTAN, under his name. So as far christian being Punjabi is concerned, even there are christians among ethnic Pashtuns in NWFP.

  • Great stuff....Love Pakistan....

  • A Christian Choudhury?! Now I've heard everything. Are they ethnically Punjabi?

Choudhury is a noble title bestowed by the Mughul empire. I had no idea there were any Christians (except maybe in present day Kerala) in India during the Mughul era.

  • Because they are christians. his son Cecil Choudhary served in Pakistan Air Force for 28 yrs, received Sitara-e-Jurat and Stara-e-Basalat. Now he is the Principal of St Anthony's high school in lahore.

  • nobel human for what he has done

  • Why was he coming out of a church?

  • long live pakistan--love u.

  • Great clip.. thanks!
