TREX 500, Experimenting with 3D maneuvers. First flight switched to Idle-up and attempted Inverted flight. I nearly crashed in the end but was able to pull out of the resultant dive. Maneuver starts at 2:00

  • The good news is that nearly doesn't count when it comes to crashes. LOL Great flying.

  • @96sunvalley thanks, I spent alot of time on the sim and flying the little Blade Helis before getting this 500.

  • Nice catch. A lot of pilot usually do a "pitch pump" to double check. A few pilots(myself) always fly idle-up.

However, take proper precautions(soft start, 2nd throttle hold switch, start with mid stick). Once, you do 3d all the time it makes sense. Trying to fly at normal and then idle-up "feels" like flying two different helis. Also, I don't even need my expo/rate/gyro gain toggles, anymore. One heli. One feel. Simpler to master.

  • @trexinvert Thanks for the feedback and flying tips..
