A comparison in terms of brightness between the Redtronic Mega-Flash SC 18 LED Light Head containing 18, 3 watt LED's, and an industry standard Hella rotating beacon. The Hella is one of the brightest 12v/55w beacons ever made.

  • Amazingly enough, the older rotary beacons were more visible during daylight and far better at night as they had a 55watt bulb fitted. They project a beam of light when combined with a reflector. The LEDs are useless in daylight most of the time and just light up, they don't project a beam of light. LEDs are nowhere near good enough yet to compete.

  • gota love the old beacons
