This police dash cam video, distributed by attorney Jon Erickson, shows Chicago police officer Richard Fioritos video surveillance of a motorist he later pulled over and arrested for a DUI in the Boystown area. While the video shows the driver signaling and slowing for speed bumps while searching for a parking space, Fiorito wrote in his report that the motorist was driving recklessly and swerving side to side of its lane of travel, almost striking multiple parked vehicles. Several people have filed suit against the officer, claiming that he falsified DUI records, perjured himself in court and frequently used anti-gay language during arrests. Twenty-one people have filed suit against Fiorito. Erickson Thursday announced that he requested to add an addition 16 plaintiffs to a federal civil rights lawsuit against the cop. If allowed, that would increase the number of plaintiffs to 37.

  • I see him go over the yellow line a couple times -- it's very obvious when he makes the wide turns and at 3:34 in the video he is heading head on in the completely wrong lane.

Just the swerving, wide turns, and going in the wrong lane are very common behavior that are the first signs of drunk driving.

Plus he makes a number of turns on red without coming to a complete stop.

  • He following this guy around while there are probably rapes and muggings ang break ins occuring at that time. Nice to know our parking spaces are portroled.

  • Being an ex cop it looks to like this cop was fishing. The motorist wasn't doing anything wrong. Looks to me like he/she was looking for a parking space. Chicago's streets at that time of night are pretty narrow so you do what you have to do to navigate them. If this cop expects it to hold up in court then he's sadly mistaken. I'd counter sue the department and this cop for harassment.

  • the driving looks pretty good to me...the turn was not wide....

  • Guilty of looking for a parking spot.

  • disgusting.
