  • Great coverage and good racing.

Both are hard to come by these days.

ESPN/ABC need to watch these videos.

  • During the 80's, 90's and the year 2000, ESPN did not have pre-race ceremonies until the network's return to NASCAR business in 2007.

  • God, why can't NASCAR coverage today be on par with this?

I like to call it "pre-Dale Earnhardt" coverage, because ever since his death in Feb. of 2001, coverage seems to be lacking.

  • I agree completely, and I hate Fords!

  • but i think you need to talk about all the stories on the race track during the weekend, so you will get a bigger build-up, and that is good, but you just need as much time for a pre-race, as their are stroies on the track, today at Richmond ESPN with ABC does just that, there will be 30 minutes of pre-race tonight, and that enough to talk about one big story this weekend, witch is of course, the fight for the Chase.
  • just days later, ESPN learn that it lost

    its NASCAR rights from 2001.

  • We dont need no 2 hour prerace shows, the 5 minute intro was great.

  • ALSO EXACTLY 2 years before 9/11!

  • Tony's 1st Career Cup Victory.

  • thunderbirds looked better

  • the 1998/99 Taurus was the best looking nascar car ever made for me!

  • Ray Dunlap was a substitute pit reporter for John Kernan at the 1999 Exide NASCAR Select Batteries 400.
