This is a large tunnel made by the Japanese military prior to the Battle of Saipan in WWII. The beginning of the video shows the beautiful jungle on the hike to the tunnel.

  • These caves look pretty far in the jungle, did the allies ever find those caves? oh and nice videos, i find them interesting. keep it up

  • @MrKoolDom Thanks MrKoolDom. The Allies walked across Saipan at arms length trying to find the last Japanese holdouts but still missed many.

  • Great video, as always :)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @rangerzep83 Thanks. I'm glad you liked it.

  • Hello - where is Stuey? Did you ever venture into the cave complex around Hill 500, I think that overlooks Aslito Airfield?

  • @Chester2929 Stewie took the day off, he sure would have loved that adventure though. That would be great to explore Hill 500 although many of the larger Japanese tunnels were sealed shut with bulldozers during and after the battle.
