Sharon Salzberg and Sylvia Boorstein discuss compassion and the opening of the heart as a nonsectarian universal wisdom for people of all backgrounds. Sharon Salzberg has been a student of Buddhism since 1971 and a co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. Sylvia Boorstein has been teaching since 1985 and teaches both vipassana and metta meditation. She is a founding teacher of Spirit Rock Meditation Center and a psychotherapist.
