House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, MD (just outside of Washington DC) is a dealer for Gold Tone instruments. Here we have Mark Sylvester, one of our teachers, demonstrating the BC-350 (Bob Carlin) banjo model.
This is one of our favorite old-time banjos we sell (and we've had the pleasure of doing several workshops with Bob Carlin). This banjo has a 12" pot, scooped fingerboard and a brass tone ring—features which were previously only found on a banjo retailing for $1200+. It also has planetary tuners, a bone nut, No-Knot tailpiece, and a Renaissance head.
The BC-350 retails for $1,129, and our sale price is $847. To inquire about purchasing, please contact us directly at hmtmail@hmtrad.com or 301-270-9090. Or you can purchase directly from our website at http://www.hmtrad.com/catalog/strings/goldtonebanjos.html.

On this video Mark is playing the traditional tune "Shady Grove."
Video produced by Glenn Tucker with audio engineered by HMT's in-house engineer and pro audio repairman Trevor Higgins. We used Neuman TLM103s through a tube preamp and with a DBX compressor set in stereo.
What, no vibrato? Just kiddin'. Keep up the good reviews.
