Two things worth noticing in this scene. First, there is this well set up timelimit. Frank (de Niro) and Molly (Streep) just met two times before, by total coincidence and do not know anything about each other. But this time Frank has been watching for Molly and now finally sees her on the train on his way home. Soon he has to get off the train which means they maybe never meet again. Will he be able to get close enough to arrange something?

The other thing is the dialouge when Frank asks Molly if she works. At this point none of them want to admit this is the beginning of a flirt. But her akward slip of the tounge answer and her getting embarrassed about it, makes it very obvious what she is really thinking.

  • The dialogue flows with a natural ease. The chemistry between these two makes the film more real. Beautiful performance by two of my favorites. Thanks for sharing:)

  • 'I'm married too'

    'Most people are'

  • @XPressPlayX First I'm not a normal person,Second,I really fall in love of the Streep, and Third I go all the days to the Station to see her.

    Regards

  • @QueenKnightofHearts The Academy would laugh at Katherine "Kate" Hepburn laughing at Streep as they thought Streep was so good they even put her in the same category of Actresses one year.

  • @edestci why don't you stop with your pretentious vocabulary and comment like a normal person?

  • In my top ten movies, Love Meryl, and Robert and Meryl work so well together.

  • i love the two things you pointed out, sceneroklipp, esp the time limit.

  • Im writing a love scene in a play, and I've just been looking up all these love dialogues and what it's like to fall in love with someone.
