Buy Here, Pay Here is a colossal rip-off, plain and simple. Notice the guy writing a comment saying they are perfectly justified in selling a $3000 car for $8000. Buy Here, Pay Here dealers are nothing but pond scum.
people always go to the extreme, on the other sides many people buy cars dont make payments hide the cars make it stinks, and nothing the dealer can do about it.
so buy here pay here sometimes are over priced but not always, and if you dont like it go make cash $ _$
@spmullis Not every1 who fals victim to the scam known as your credit rating is a deadbeat. Many of these people are forced to go into medical bankruptcy or an unexpected job loss. These banks prey on those even with good credit, and your never really getting "a good deal". Preditory lending has become the norm of society and we are nothing but slaves to the ever growing interest rates on our homes, taxes, cars, etc.
Even though the buy here pay here is a scam. What's even more of a scam is how the credit system works and how we are given our credit rating. As that is how these scams come to rise.Some1 gets sick, or loses a job w/ a house payment, and all of the sudden a well meaning citizen has their credit rating TRASHED. Now, this person who has payed their bills for most of their lives are FORCED to fall into scams to be able to live their lives. This entire banking apperatus is nothing but a huge SCAM
Buy here pay here is a total scam, regardless of how credit challenged the consumer is. The Buy Here Pay Here dealers only compound the problems that causes bad credit in the first place by encouraging a total lack of financial responsibility and education
Go look on craigslist vehicles can be bought in all price ranges and conditions for CASH. Praying on dumb car buyers is just as bad as praying on the elderly.
Used car lots can turn a great profit by just selling cars at $5000 or less.
it's a shame that human beings are there waiting like vultures to take advantage of people with poor payment histories. it's also a shame that many consumers don't arm themselves with readily available information on how to make a car purchase.
I bought a 93 escort (hince my name) and from bhph and payed 4 grand for it. had under 100k miles and looked like new. I know the car was only worth black book at around 1200.00 but at the time I had just lost my buick and need a car. so at 60 bucks a week for 2 years, I made every payment and even got the car payed off early. and meh I still have the car and it's got 200k on it now lol.
Why dont the reporter show everyone her credit report? I think that would explain the risk of the deal. The credit union guy would probably not consider loaning her $200 if he looked at her credit report regardless of what the car is worth. Having bad credit comes with a price. Pay your bills on time and you can stay out of these situations. If it was not for BHPH dealers our country's public transportation system would have to be increased a thousand fold.
@mikee283 see what you saying is bullshit and you know it. The buy here pay here lot that i purchased all three of my cars from never tried to pull no shit like that. there should be a high risk mark up but $5000 that is unreal. they robed a woman. they new she was not educated in buying cars off a lot and they raped her. what this is greed. and if this is how you conduct business them see how many returning customers you have. what good is it for a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul.
