Have you ever realized how fast Tom Morello talks? Holy shit?!
-
'Yeah, to get as many people as possible to join the political debate, to get the dialogue going. I was wondering today, why would anyone climb to the roof of the American Embassy with a banner that says "Free Mumia Abu-Jamal", why do you do that? That's to get the international press' attention. The international network that Sony has available, is to me the perfect tool you know, it can get even more people to join a revolutionary awareness and fight.' -Zack de la Rocha

@93boldaslove That's what Tom Morello said.

'When you live in a capitalistic society, the currency of the dissemination of information goes through capitalistic channels. Would Noam Chomsky object to his works being sold at Barnes & Noble? No, because that's where people buy their books. We're not interested in preaching to just the converted. It's great to play abandoned squats run by anarchists, but it's also great to be able to reach people with a revolutionary message, people from Granada Hills to Stuttgart.'

still fucking relevant
-
@93boldaslove They used the system to get the message out, sometimes you have to bite the bullet.
-
@93boldaslove I thought the same shit too. The thing I believe they went this route to "seem like hypocrites to their own words" is because how else would they speak for the common man or fight against the media blanket that was thrown on us, without infiltrating the very source of were the brainwashing is. My question is though...What did they do with their money? How do they live?
-
Who the fuck tagged this as metal?
-
RATM always confused me, they're strict anti-capitalist but made millions of dollars very fast using Aggressive Pop Music/Major Label help. The " New Underground" that exist now uses Major Labels in a creative way, they coherse major labels into signing them using mixtapes which they give away for free online, and have them produce there album and then they tour those albums. I really wish i could talk to Tom and see what he would like to say about that, he's one of my heros.
