Here's a brief overview of some additions I made to my BF30 mill. The most useful is the Quick Toolchanger (ISO 30). Also shown are a spindle lock for one-handed collet changing and the missing drill stop that I've needed so many times

  • Those BF series machines are sure nice looking for the price. I have an X2 right now, I originally attempted to get a Grizzly G0704 BF20 style machine but the backorder was ridiculous and gave up. However nice work. Its cool to see what others have created.

  • great scott! this guy looks like he should be time traveling!

  • just make sure you take the pin out before turning the spindle on..

  • NASCAR Speed Studs are designed to accurately position the wheel and to more quickly release and tighten the lug nuts. They are manufactured from heat-treated, 190,000 psi chromemoly steel and feature J-form threads, an exclusive nut starter, and a bullet-shaped radius that all but eliminates cross threading. The ARP NASCAR Speed Studs use a special baked-on dry film lubricant to reduce the possibility of galling and ensure consistent clamp loads and double magnaflux inspection.

  • Thanks for the reply.

  • @AeroSport103 Drawbar on most mills seems to be long enough to be self aligning. If cross threading were a big problem, how does NASCAR get away from it? :-) They tend to have more problems with losing lug nuts, than cross threaded ones.

  • What keeps the draw bar from cross threading?

The way my luck goes, I would destroy the threads on the draw bar

    and the tool holder...

  • As a Sieg "Super" X2 owner, I find the concept of a BF30 owner being a "poor man" to be a bit of an oxymoron. Other than that, very nice. "Liked."

  • Good stuff!

  • Goeie dag,

    Mvg, Gerwin
