It's a fact that for the past 100,000 years, it has been too cold to snow in Antarctica.

It's actually been one of the driest continents on earth. When it does, of course, it accumulates.

Anyway, it has not been exceptionally cold in the Northeast of the USA this winter.

Just exceptionally moist. That's due to melting glaciers increasing moisture that gets dumped on lower latitudes.
