Micro-Air Vehicles (MAVs) are a new/future class of unmanned aerial vehicle sized on the order of a small bird or insect. Their motion may be driven by flapping wings as shown in this simulation. Although such small systems can't be built today, they can be studied using advanced computational techniques, as demonstrated in the simulations here. The computed airflow results are visualized using an advanced particle tracing technique.
wow this is really cool- I'm about to start some flapping-wing research, what program were you using to model this?! cheers
