Barred Owls are nesting next to our home. This is the second time in the last few years that we have had these owls nest this close to the house. The images you will see at first are the female perched on the tree and then the later visuals of the owl are the male hunting behind our home. As you get further into the video you will see a number of furry babies emerge. One has been out of the nest for several days and the other came out of the nest recently. The images of the two babies are several days of the two birds venturing out on their own but staying hidden from crows and other predators. While the two little ones are stretching their wings the male and female will set up a perimeter around them, only approaching them to deliver food. After 4 days the two little ones have moved way beyond the nest and after day 5 are now off on their own and are no longer around.
