This video series, hosted by Michael Gross, will teach you the simple how-to workshop techniques you need to know to take an HO scale electric train set and make it a scenic model railroad. We'll show you how to build a 4x8 model train table (benchwork) from plywood, lay sections of track, create easy realistic scenery using foam and paint, assemble model buildings, and wire your layout with a DC power pack. When youre done, youll have a railroad that operates well and looks real. Our techniques would work in N, O, S, G, or Z scale also. This video is scene 3, Benchwork part 2 how-to. • thumbs up if they make it look easy

  • I watched the DVD at home and followed the list when I bought the hardware. As pointed out in previous comments, the angle braces need to be 66" long not 48". In addition, you need twice as many bolts, washers and nuts. Directions to get the table and train layout started, too bad there are these two small errors.

  • @bennyg11111 Ah! I wish I saw this forst. I'm just about finished following this video and came across the same problem. I moved my legs inside to another corossbeam of the table and the 48" work, but I need to got to the hardware store for 4 more bolts, wing nuts, etc to finish it. Hopefully the positions of the legs won't make it too narrow of a base - but at least I can readjust it of I need to.

  • Nice love this table

  • made a train bord like this one but up scaled it a bit to 3 meters by 5 meters

  • Looks easy, but I don't have the room to construct it.

  • @bennyg11111 cheers

  • @sigzor85 My mistake. You must place the cross braces at an angle just like video shows for strong stability.

  • This was a very good video and I was able to follow easily. The braces do need to be much longer than 48". That was my only issue.

  • this video has parts on it that do things very hard work, the legs for example... wooden beams is what i use on my layout for the legs
