I seriously dont see why you are getting worked up about this "control" thing. Pack leaders, in all types of animal, including ourselves, always exert control on some level. That is simply how things work... a leader takes charge and things get done.
.
Would they get done with a mob mentality? From ant colonies to world governments, thats simply how order exists: the few govern the many.
-
Whats with all the anti-government, anyway? Are you looking for a scapegoat? Would you be happier in small nomadic tribes? How about in complete and total anarchy?
.
We are pack animals, creatures of social group reliance. If we wern't so, then all the growth and advancement that has come from being in societies would not exist and we would still be living and dying as any single family of animal in nature.
-
The freedom you think we lack is anarchy, it seems. We are free, but there are rules and guidelines set in place to hopefully keep the community going.
.
Take your body, for instance. Are you going to let cancer fester? No. Why not? Because it is not working for your benefit. Same thing with societies.
.
We get educations so we can contribute to the society. Do you think we should reward freeloaders?? I really have a hard time seeing how you think "freedom" entails what you seem to imply

Sorry-but I kinda have to laugh at this. Of course its money driven... how else would it be? The foundation of any large entity is always built on the work of each and every stone that supports it.... c'mon, that should be obvious.
.
Money is the worlds lifeblood, at the moment, and that drives everything. And of course marketing is going to be targeting specific groups... thats because they have something to offer those specific groups... sheesh.

now we get sublimilaly opressed.. but i don`t think direct opression is better though ;-)

at least, we in norway know that our old history is nothing to be proud of.. the vikings where really nasty people.. but now we have christianity.. whitch is probably more evil in it`s roots.. and here we`ve got a statechurch.. i remember i had christian class at school.. it`s removed now luckily

a friend of mine once said: "i studied hard for this test. once i nail it, i don`t have to know all that shit anymore.."
thats what education normaly is.. you don`t have to be smart to get a good education.. you just need a good memory...

@DanceInYourRoom Or Christians aren't paranoid enough...? :)

I hate books; they only teach us to talk about things we know nothing about.

@DanceInYourRoom Ah, yeah... well, I guess Christians are paranoid in the opposite way: they're all for LESS thinking and questioning and MORE thought control, whereas that's what I'm afraid of.

Yes, I'm sorry to be cynical in my last 2 posts. I just wished to counter your thinking to remind you that you are not alone in your thoughts. The comfort you receive from knowing you are outside of that thought control is a stepping stone for self-actualization.
I hope you remain optomistic in the face of this perceived adversity. Because one day, this government will be in your hands to take care of my dear.

@DanceInYourRoom haha, you weren't the one being cynical, I was. And you aren't entirely wrong, either, so no worries.
