@evelsteev Well, looking back at it, I don't blame them. I was singing out of Russel's (the guitarist before Jason) P.A.system, and I was contributing nothing, financially. They warned me, ahead of time, that I should get one, but I didn't know how to come up with the money to buy one. Keep in mind we were all 16. I'm not really over it, but then again, I can't blame them.

@ShittyMcPoopyBalls Actually, Paul kicked me out of the group because they wanted me to get my own P.A. system to sing out of. I couldn't afford one, so the rest is history, as they say.

GobelPaul, thank you so much for sharing this! I've been searching for this interview for years, it's so cool to finally see it posted! Paul and Sean were so young, but wise and mature already. They truly deserve the recognition they got in the past few years, they're incredible musicians and people.

They grew their hair out because of me, I had it longer than they did in 1986, when I first met them and then sang with them. I'm also the one who gave Paul Masvidal Chuck's phone number, even though I thought it was a bad idea. Boy, was I wrong.
