Steely Dan discuss the production behind "Black Cow" and "Home at Last" from "Aja."
Original Steely Dan member Denny Dias plays the guitar on "Home at Last," his last contribution to one of the band's songs while Bernard Purdie plays drums utilizing his signature beat called the "Purdie Shuffle."
@311Ceriah No doubt it was, since it was just pre-existing great music. They wouldn't have been impressed that something sold well; they usually bucked the commercial trend in their day. If anything pleased them, it was the royalties they finally began to get for the use of their work. "Fagen could joke, perhaps, because after 1992's landmark legal case, Grand Upright Music vs. Warner Bros. Records... samplers have had to be more dutiful in giving samplees due credit." (Samplee = composer)

@torr5962 Hell yeah they did. That song (although the groups only claim to fame ) is considered a hip hop classic. Im sure they are satisified with its success being one of their own greatest hits was sampled. Just check Fagens reaction. lmao
